Our Outstanding Business Partner for May 2017 is Broehl Law Office of Wooster

Broehl Law Office has provided legal services to the Wayne County area since 1984. The business has been housed in the historic Annat mansion on North Market Street since 2015. That year, Margo Broehl added two more attorneys, Beth Mulcahy and Elizabeth Krieder Wright.

Accepting the award were Margo Broehl, Robin Miller and Elizabeth Wright.

Margo is a recipient of the Wooster Chamber of Commerce Wall of Fame Award. She champions the Career Center as an excellent resource for producing skilled workers to build the county economy. She turns to the Career Center, both high school and adult programs, to send the best people to be considered for employment.

“The office has hired many graduates over the years,” said Deborah Plank, who nominated the business for the award. One of their greatest strengths is Robin Steiner Miller, a Career Center graduate of Norwayne and our high skill stenography program. Robin began working for Broehl as an intern during her senior year in high school, then was hired full time after graduation. She has worked with Broehl for more than 35 years, and is a recipient of one of our Distinguished Alumni Awards in 1992. She has also served as an advisory committee member, a guest speaker and credits the business education program for preparing her for her career.

The office established a Foundation Scholarship for one of its clients, Carlos Appleman, to provide scholarships for nursing students in Wayne County for education beyond that of a nursing assistant. Appleman wanted to show his appreciation for the care he received from Wayne County Schools Career Center nursing students at Smithville Western Care Center. The law office hosts a dinner each year for the recipient of this scholarship.

The firm’s bookkeeper is Alisa Lycans Odenkirk, a graduate of the Finance Specialist program. Another business graduate, Julie Hartzler Steiner, filled in when Robin was on leave. The law office and their employees have nominated Miller, Ann Zollinger Gerber, Keith Winkler, and now 2017 recipient Trena Carpenter Sheppard for Distinguished Alumni awards.

We thank the Broehl Law Office for their outstanding support of Career and Technical Education in Wayne County.
