Due to impending weather, our Open House dates of December 1st and December 2nd will now be moved to December 8th and December 9th. All timeslots that have already been reserved will remain the same. If you previously reserved time slots for the 1st and 2nd, you will receive both an email and phone call to inform you and reconfirm. The Wayne County Schools Career Center is offering two ways to explore their 27 career and technical programs this year. Both virtual and in-person Open House events are available. With trades in agriculture, construction, health care, manufacturing/engineering, mechanics, public service, and technology, there is certainly something for everyone.
The Open House website option, available soon, is for anyone who wishes to check out the exciting programs the Career Center has to offer and includes videos of each trade, as well as student testimonials.
In-person Open House time slots are available by appointment only between 5 and 7:15 PM on December 3, 8, & 9 for high school sophomores and their parents. Junior students wishing to visit RAMTEC programs may schedule in-person visits on Thursday, December 3. Appointments may be scheduled by calling 330-669-7000 extension 1021 between 8AM and 2PM Monday-Friday or by clicking HERE for the online form. Time slots are on a first-come, first-served basis.
To allow for social distancing and safety of our guests and staff, trades open on Tuesday, December 8 (originally scheduled for December 1) include: Cosmetology, Dental Assisting, Early Childhood Education & Care, Medical Assisting, Patient Care Technologies, and Practical Nursing. Engineering Technologies (at Orrville High School) was originally scheduled for December 2 and has been moved to the 8th due to a scheduling conflict at OHS.
Trades open on Wednesday, December 9 (originally scheduled for December 2nd) include: AgriBusiness & Production, Animal Science, Buildings & Grounds, Business, Culinary Arts, Criminal Justice, Exercise Science & Sports Medicine, Graphic Design and Photography, Hospitality, and Interactive Media.
Trades open on Thursday, December 3 include: Ag Mechanics/Power Technologies, Automotive Technologies, Construction Technologies, Diesel Technologies. Electronics & Computer Networking, Machining Technologies, Powerline Technologies, Welding Technologies, RAMTEC- CNC & Advanced Manufacturing, and RAMTEC- Robotics & Automation.
Each trade program also has an open Zoom meeting scheduled from 7:30-8PM on their designated night. Instructors will be available to answer any questions during this time. Links to the Zoom meetings can be found on the Open House website.
