ARTS AND CRAFTING

  • INTRODUCTION TO QUILTING
    Learn how to:  use a rotary cutter with acrylic ruler and matt; comprehend pattern instructions; choose fabrics; and beginning to end construction knowledge.  Bring your portable sewing machine. Beginner’s class: 10 hours/5 sessions Tuition: $99    Supplies:  $10

  • PAINTING FOR THE SOUL
    Learn how to paint (with acrylics) something that has great meaning to you as you learn techniques that will help you create great art which can be theraputic to your soul. Supplies are required --a list will be mailed upon registration. 6 hours/2 sessions

  • FLORAL ARRANGING MAKE-AND-TAKE
    These 1-day classes are easy for anyone to complete! With hands-on guided instructions, you’ll design a beautiful seasonal arrangement.

Nov. 14: Thanksgiving centerpiece
- Fall flowers and candles with orange, bronze, red, and yellow accents

Dec. 12: traditional fresh and fragrant live pine
- A fragrant live pine with holly cedar and pine cones accented with red velvet ribbons

Jan.   9: winter bird fresh flower arrangement
- Colorful, fresh assorted flowers in a ceramic container to brighten up the colder winter days

Feb. 13: Valentine’s arrangement   
- Red, white, and pink flowers and hearts in a white basket with heart novelties

Mar. 13: artificial spring wreath   
- Decorate a door or use indoors for a touch of spring. Features colorful keepsake pastel flowers, ivy, and ribbon

Apr. 10: April showers mini umbrella w/ fresh flowers
- Mini umbrella novelty with spring fresh flowers in a cute container

May 8: Mother's Day arrangement
- Lace and pearls window box with assorted fresh flowers

June 12: Summer arrangement
-  Permanent botanicals wall decoration in a swag style

July 10: Freedom Arrangement
- Red, white, and blue stars and stripes artificial arrangement that can be used year after year

 

 

  • FLORAL ARRANGING 6-WEEK BASIC DESIGN CLASS
Become your own florist! This 6-week class covers all aspects of live basic arrangements including: basic round arrangements, corsages & boutonnieres, funeral & altar pieces, silk wreaths & swags, bridal bouquets, and vased flowers. All supplies provided except tools (wire cutters and scissors).

    One of our most popular courses! Learn how to use all of the functions your camera has to offer, including shooting in manual mode, in this hands-on, shooting intensive class. Prerequisites: Personal digital camera and basic knowledge of its operation. 6 hours/3 sessions

  • ESTATE PLANNING BASICS 
    Living Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Wills, and Living Wills and Powers of Attorney for Health Care are among the basic tools for estate planning.  Consideration of these documents in the context of avoiding probate will be the focus.  We will also address the following topics: estate tax, forms of asset ownership, Medicaid eligibility, and gifting. 4 hours/2 sessions
