Park Mazda of Wooster has been providing quality cars to citizens in the Wooster area for 14 years. Nick Soranno, owner and general manager, said the business is employee family owned, and more than 50 percent of the associates have more than six years of experience at Park Mazda.
Bob Lake Mazda, first located in downtown Wooster, opened in the early 1980s. It moved to Cleveland Road on the north end of Wooster in 1995, and was purchased by Nick Soranno in March 1999, and renamed Park Mazda. The building was completely renovated in 2007 and 2008. There are 22 associates currently working at Park Mazda, said Mr. Soranno.
Park Mazda has hired more than 12 Wayne County Schools Career Center students over the last 14 years.
“They consider us a great source for staffing,” said Superintendent Kip Crain. The Career Center has provided skilled detailers, auto mechanics and even office workers at Park Mazda.
“Career Center students are good employees,” said Mr. Soranno.
Last fall, Park Mazda agreed to sponsor a Car Incentive Program to encourage perfect attendance at school. Park Mazda has offered a $2,400 down payment on a new or used car, or a $750 scholarship to one high school or adult student who had perfect attendance at least one nine-week period this school year. The name of the winner will be announced after the drawing on May 17, 2013.
So far this year, 322 high school perfect attendance awards have been given, as well as 81 Adult Education attendance awards. Forty-two high school students have maintained perfect attendance for the first three nine week periodsni.
Last year, 315 high school awards had been given the first three nine-week grading periods, and only 21 had perfect attendance all three nine weeks.
Park Mazda has made significant donations to the school, provides job shadowing sites and job placement for students.
