Wayne County Schools Career Center celebrated the achievements of 92 graduates from across its Adult Education programs during its Class of 2026 graduation ceremony on Monday, November 2, 2026.

The celebration recognized the graduates’ hard work, determination and commitment to building their futures. For many adult learners, completing a program means balancing coursework with jobs, family responsibilities and other commitments, making graduation an especially meaningful milestone.

Student speakers La'Raya Woods and Lydia Miller thanked their families for supporting and encouraging them throughout their educational journeys. Woods’ remarks also brought a lighthearted moment as she celebrated another benefit of reaching graduation: no more homework!

Miller, who was formerly part of the Amish community, began her journey with a goal of earning her high school diploma. After achieving that milestone last year through WCSCC’s Adult Diploma Program, she set her sights on her next goal and enrolled in the Medical Assisting program. Now, she has accepted her dream job working in obstetrics at Cleveland Clinic. Her story reflects the opportunities that can grow from taking the first step and continuing to pursue new goals.

Stephanie Schab, assistant administrator with the State of Ohio’s Office of Career and Technical Education, also joined the celebration to recognize the graduates’ accomplishments.

WCSCC congratulates the Class of 2026 and thanks the families, friends, instructors and staff who helped these graduates reach this milestone.
