Functions & Responsibilities
MULTI-CRAFT (ELECTRICAL) MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Available Shifts 7am-7pm, 7pm-7am
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Electrical Expeditor, the Multi-craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of Plant injection and stretch blow molding machines, auxiliary production equipment (UV printers, hot leaf printers, assembly machines, bagger machines, carton erectors, stretch wrapping units, material handling conveying equipment), and Plant systems (chilled water systems, dehumidification systems, vacuum material delivery system, etc.). Perform machinery and systems repairs using electrical blueprints.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Performs all tasks necessary to operate equipment according to procedure.
• Perform start/restart of plastic injection molding machinery.
• Visually inspect machines and support equipment for worn parts or safety hazards.
• Perform cleaning and lubrication of equipment as needed or directed.
• Performs preventative maintenance on mechanical machinery and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical controls including PLC’s, 3 phase & single phase circuits, relays, switches, power supplies, drives, gauges and test equipment.
• PLC and HMI programming utilizing RSLogix and FTView (Allen Bradley Products).
• Follows work instructions and may be asked to write, revise and train others to those instructions.
• Provide input for modifications/new designs for continuous improvement.
• Performs root cause analysis when problems arise to determine if actions can be taken immediately or appropriate personnel need to be called.
• Maintains 5S environment in work area.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently, or up to 80 pounds in team-lift scenario.
• Adheres to plant and corporate safety policies.
May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• Possesses well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with 480, 240, 120, 24 DC, single and 3-phase power, pneumatic, hydraulic operation.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems with the aid of blueprints, drawings & schematics.
• Knowledge of OSHA and National Electric Code (NEC).
• Strong background using precision tools (micrometers, multimeters, indicators, voltage testers).
• Experience with electrical components, sensors, AC/DC drives/motors and servo drives/motors.
• Ability to speak, read and write English.
• Must be able to work from design sketches, drawings and verbal instructions.
• Possesses good math skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Outlook.
SAP knowledge preferred but not required.
