Student Wellness and Success Plan 2025-2026

Student Wellness and Success Plan 2025 – 2026

Use of Funds

The district intends to utilize Student Wellness and Success Funds to address both student wellness and student success. Currently, 48% of our students participate in the NSLP; for these families, financial constraints often translate into inadequate access to essential health and mental health care. In response to these needs, the district has hired a full-time mental health counselor and purchased a telemedicine cart for our school nurses. We anticipate continuing to dedicate a large portion of these funds to these two areas.

A secondary impact of the pandemic is the significant percentage of students who continue to struggle with chronic absenteeism. While the district has incorporated mentoring to provide students with positive role models, these mentors are only on-site periodically—weekly at best. We believe the scale of the absenteeism crisis warrants a dedicated, daily staff member to monitor, identify, and intervene in real-time. The remainder of these funds will be allocated to this role.

Anticipated Impact

The district has established a robust network of academic support that is highly effective for students who attend regularly and are free from significant external burdens. Our planned use of these funds aims to lower these two specific hurdles. Consequently, we anticipate improved attendance, persistence, and academic performance among our at-risk student population.
