College Credit Plus Information
Enrollment Information
In order to enroll in College Credit Plus your child must take the ACT or Next-Gen ACCUPLACER test and score as follows:
College Algebra - ACT Math 22 or Next Gen ACCUPLACER QAS 263 or AAF 250
Conditional scores with 3.5 GPA AND final grade of A or B in Alg. 2 are ACT Math 19-21, SAT 500 or Next Gen ACCUPLACER QAS 250-262 or AAF 237-249
(Online course with supporting teacher, 4 college credits, 1 high school credit)
Business Trade courses- ACT Reading 18 or Next-Gen ACCUPLACER Reading 246; Conditional scores with a 3.0 GPA are ACT reading 16-17 or Next Gen ACCUPLACER Reading 240-245
For the courses listed below, you must have a qualifying score in one area to enroll OR have a 3.0 GPA

College Composition I and II – 2.5 GPA if a qualifying score in any area

US Government and Politics (Government) – Must have 25 sign up to offer

Student Success Seminar – 1 College Credit, .33 High School Credit
Computer Applications for Professionals - Need an Accuplacer computer test score of 21 (test given at the Career Center through Accuplacer) or an A or B in HS Computer class, (3 college credits, 1 high school credit)

Interactive Media Trade Courses
All requirements must be met by May 1, 2026 in order to be enrolled.
Testing Opportunities
The ACT is offered in February or March at the home high schools. See www.actstudent.org for ACT registration and additional test dates.
The ACCUPLACER test is offered at the home high school and at the Career Center. See your school counselor for more information.
General Classroom Information
Course Cost- Free to students. Textbooks will be returned to the Career Center at the end of the course.
Consequences of Failing a Course- Failure of a course will put graduation in jeopardy. College Composition counts as a Junior or Senior English class which is a required course for graduation. For most students, US Government and Politics will count as the required high school Government course and College Algebra may count as the required fourth math credit. Failure of a course will result in requirement of payment for course and textbook.
**Current interpretation of Ohio Revised Code 3365.09(A), shall allow, but not require, a school district or nonpublic school as appropriate to seek reimbursement under the following two circumstances: 1) If the student receives a failing grade at the end of the college course; or 2) If the student withdraws from or drops the college course subsequent to the 14th calendar day after the particular course began. Pursuant to Section 3365.09(C), neither a school district nor a nonpublic school shall seek reimbursement if the student is identified as being economically disadvantaged in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code 3333‐1‐65.6(B)(2).
Support Services -Appointments can be made with Career Center support teacher. We also provide before school and after school (2:35-3:30) tutoring at the Career Center. At Stark State, each student will be assigned a college instructor as a mentor. Online instructors are also available by email for assistance. Students are also permitted to use tutoring services on Stark State’s campus.
** Scheduling difficulties may occur and it may be possible that the course is not offered due to low numbers of enrollees or a conflict with a required course.
