Steak Night Menus

Wayne County Schools Career Center (WCSCC) is pleased to announce the return of its popular Steak Night, presented by 518 Bistro, with several exciting updates for the upcoming season. These special dining events will take place at the Wayne County Schools Career Center, located at 518 West Prospect Street, Smithville, Ohio 44677, and will feature student-curated, globally inspired menus prepared and served by WCSCC culinary students.

Four Steak Night events are scheduled, each offering a unique themed menu:

Thursday, February 19 – American-Inspired Dinner
Coleslaw, White Chicken Chili, Ribeye with caramelized onions, homemade fried potato wedges, corn casserole, and banana pudding cheesecake.

Thursday, March 5 – Asian-Inspired Dinner
Chicken and rice soup, chopped salad with Asian sesame dressing, strip steak with shiitake mushroom and soy demi-glace, Okinawa mashed sweet potatoes, grilled broccolini (or chef’s choice), and matcha panna cotta with raspberries.

Thursday, March 19 – Italian-Inspired Surf & Turf Dinner
Lobster bisque, caprese salad, center-cut sirloin with shrimp scampi, lemon basil risotto, asparagus (or chef’s choice), and tiramisu.

Thursday, April 9 – French-Inspired Dinner
Wedge salad, five-onion soup, braised short rib with red wine peppercorn demi-glace, truffle au gratin potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and Crème Brulé.

Each Steak Night is $30 per person, which includes a drink station. Seating will take place between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m., with the first course served promptly at 5:30 p.m. Capacity is limited to 45 guests per evening, payments may be made by check or cash only (we are unable to accept credit or debit cards), and reservations are required.

Reservations will be accepted beginning Monday, February 2, and must be made via email to mhawkins@wcscc.edu. When making a reservation, guests are asked to include the following information:

  • Name for the reservation
  • Desired Steak Night date
  • Number of guests in the party
  • Any dietary restrictions or allergies
  • Preferred steak temperature (Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, or Well)

Consuming raw or undercooked foods may increase your risk of foodborne illness.

These Steak Night events provide an opportunity for the community to enjoy an elevated dining experience while supporting career-technical education and the next generation of culinary professionals.
