Ophthalmic Technician/Ophthalmic Assistant/COA/COT Needed We are searching for candidates who want to be a part of a team in a fast paced, professional practice! Summary of Job Duties: The primary purpose of the ophthalmic technician is to assist physicians in providing safe and ethical care for clients by obtaining appropriate patient history information, performing needed testing and help physicians productively use their time working in the office. Must have ability to anticipate what patient health information, type of work up and instrumentation the physician will need during each exam. Functions & Responsibilities: 
• Moving patients from one exam area to another for successful work flow. • Obtain general ophthalmic work-up information and detailed histories. • Perform special testing such as Visual fields, OCT’s, automative or subjective refractions, manifest refractions, and testing the intraocular pressure. • Must be able to assist physician with minor surgical procedures. • Must scribe for physicians as assigned. • Must be able to efficiently use keyboard in order to use Electronic Medical Records system. • Must perform inventory as needed of supplies. • Must perform clerical or other duties as requested by the Director of Operations, Lead Tech or other office Director as needed. • Performs tasks in an ethical, legal and caring manner. • Performs tasks safely and effectively to assure patient comfort and welfare. • Protects confidential resident information. • Follows federal, state, and agency regulations to protect own health and that of others.
Qualifications: 
• Must be at least 18 years of age. • Must have personal initiative and be responsible for performance and maintenance of skills needed to perform tasks at hand. • Must be able to work in a team environment and show flexibility in duties as needed. • Must be capable of effective speaking communication with patients in order to perform the testing and history taking that are essential throughout the day.
